Acupuncture with Paula

I use a multifaceted approach – in addition to the physical interventions: acupuncture, cupping, massage, gua sha and electro acupuncture, I offer nutritional advice, herbal supplements, clinical hypnotherapy and coaching as appropriate.  It is not a one box for all, I will use and suggest these and the many other tools I have as and when we agree I is appropriate.

My training allows me to pull on different styles of

acupuncture, including TCM, scalp, Sa’am, electron-adapted neurotherapy, auricular and five element.

As with all medicines, acupuncture it is not a “one a done”, it will require a course of treatment, each session is considered a dose, and the dosage will vary depending on the condition and person receiving it.   In the UK this is typically once or twice a week for a period of 4-6 weeks and then reducing frequency as your condition improves, this will not only alleviate symptoms but also help treat the root and prevent the recurrence once the treatments stop.

About Me

Paula gained her degree in acupuncture in 2007, from the University of Salford, which entitled her to membership of the British Acupuncture Council, to whom she has remained a full member. (membership number 958495), having experienced acupuncture for herself and instantly falling in love with its potential for change.  She previously

gained a degree in psychology and has completed a multitude of other qualifications giving her a varied tool box!

I am a no nonsense, down to earth, Glasgow gal who loves nothing more than helping others feel good and feel better (that’s the fire element in me). I consider myself woo adjacent – mostly science based with a bit of ‘woo’ on the side. I am not your tpicaly therapist, I am super morbidly obsess

and have tattoos, piercings and have been known to use the odd swear word or two.

I don’t promise to hold all the answers for you – but I have a good few options to help you along the way. You are the expert in your life – don’t let anyone tell you otherwise – I am here to help guide and support you in making changes to enhance your experience of life – not to tell you your doing it wrong! I don’t always do as I say – and don’t expect you to blindly follow my suggestions ether.

I am a fully paid up member of the LGBTQ+ community and do everything I can to ensure you feel safe and welcome in my clinic space regardless of your identity, your body size, your ethnicity – I might ask you a million questions about it – but honestly, it comes from a place of curiosity and a desire to understand pretty much everything in the world!

Frequently asked questions in my Acupuncture & therapies Clinic

I have a wee video link to a conversation I had with a friend who asked I believe the most common questions  - welcome to watch that here.

How much does acupuncture cost: initial appointments are £68 and that includes your first treatment, follow ups are £55, and packages are available to help you save – details available here. (https://app.acuityscheduling.com/catalog.php?owner=11360390)

Does it work: there is a wealth of both evidence and empirical data to support the efficacy of acupuncture (and all the other modalities Paula offers!)

Does it hurt: I’d never say no to this, as its hard to define ‘hurt’ but ask anyone that has seen an acupuncturist qualified to my

level and their answer will be no!

Where do the needles go: there are over 1000 acupuncture points on the body, so it very much depends! But generally it looks like you

are about to go paddling, with needles in lower half of the limbs, abdomen or back and head, depending very much on what you are seeking treatment for.
